Not every enquiry needs to begin with a workshop visit. Clear photographs and accurate vehicle information can often provide enough information for an initial review, particularly where the damage is visible and localised.
We may still recommend a physical inspection before confirming the repair scope. This is more likely where the vehicle has been involved in a collision, a bumper has moved from its normal position, panel gaps have changed, the damage extends around a panel edge or previous bodywork may be present.
A workshop inspection can also be important where corrosion, cracked plastic, concealed mounting damage or several connected damaged areas need to be assessed. Photographs show the exterior appearance but cannot always establish what is behind trim or other components.
The purpose of an inspection is not to make a repair unnecessarily complicated. It is to avoid defining the job too narrowly when important areas cannot be assessed reliably from images.
For suitable minor cosmetic damage, the initial photographs may be enough to identify an appropriate next step. More extensive bodywork can be assessed through our Car Body Repairs service, while collision-related damage can be reviewed through Accident Repairs.
