Different refinishing systems and repair conditions can have different requirements, so there is no reliable universal timetable for when every newly painted vehicle should be washed, polished, waxed or coated.
When the finish is ready for washing, remove loose contamination before wiping the surface and use clean equipment and products intended for automotive paint. Dry the vehicle gently rather than rubbing the surface aggressively.
Bird droppings, tree contamination and other deposits should be removed reasonably promptly using an appropriate paint-safe method. Avoid scraping dried contamination or starting with strong solvents.
Do not assume that fresh paint should immediately receive machine polishing, wax, sealant or a ceramic-style coating. Check suitability and timing with the workshop before applying products that are abrasive or designed to remain on the surface.
